Bio

Vagner made first flight to space on Soyuz MS-16. He was originally the backup crew member for Andrei Babkin, who was removed from the flight after his prime crew counterpart suffered an eye injury. Vagner was selected as a cosmonaut in 2010 after working for RKK Energia -- the prime developer and contractor of the Russian crew spaceflight program.
