Ketty Pucci-Sisti Maisonrouge still remembers as a kid watching the moon landing and dreaming of going to space. Even though her mother told her she could accomplish anything, as a petite Italian woman growing up in Switzerland and France, going to space surely seemed out of reach. So she turned her secret dream into a passion for sci-fi and explored the world as a scuba diver and adventurer. In 2004, she eagerly followed SpaceShipOne as it won the Ansari XPRIZE and was ecstatic when she was told that, despite not being a 30-year-old 6’2” man with years of flying experience, she could fulfill her childhood dream and became an early Founder of Virgin Galactic. As a crew member aboard ‘Galactic 05,’ Ketty has now reached the final frontier! Her spacesuit displays the French and American flags; she carried the Italian flag in her pocket.
