Sophie Adenot (born 1982, France) is an ESA astronaut certified in 2024 and slated for her first ISS mission in 2026. An aerospace engineer from ISAE-SUPAERO with a master’s from MIT on vestibular adaptation to artificial gravity, she became a French Air Force helicopter pilot, later serving as a search-and-rescue pilot, formation leader, and experimental test pilot with over 3000 flight hours across 22 helicopter types. She has received multiple honours, including the French National Order of Merit, and is multilingual, active in scientific outreach, and passionate about outdoor sports and aviation. Sophie Marie Laurence Adenot (born 5 July 1982) is a French engineer, helicopter pilot, and astronaut. She holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the French Air and Space Force and became France's first female helicopter test pilot in 2018. She was selected to join the European Astronaut Corps as part of the 2022 group.
