William Shatner (born March 22, 1931) is a Canadian actor, author, and director best known for portraying Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek television series and films. Over his career, he has appeared in numerous television shows and movies, including T.J. Hooker and Boston Legal, and has won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. In addition to acting, Shatner has written several books and recorded spoken word and musical albums. On October 13, 2021, at the age of 90, he flew aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard spacecraft, becoming the oldest person to travel to space.
