Overview
Soyuz 32 launched the third long duration crew to the Salyut 6 space station. This was the first human space flight to launch with a human on board and return to Earth with no one aboard. The crew spent 175 days in space, landing on Soyuz 34. They set a then-record for mission duration. Soyuz 34 was delivered uncrewed after engine modifications to give the crew a good return vehicle.
