Dr. Behnken is a veteran of two Space Shuttle missions and served as the Pilot for SpaceX's first crewed mission and NASA's first human launch of the Commercial Crew Program.
A former Chief of the Astronaut Office for NASA, Dr. Behnken holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and is a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force with over 1,000 flight hours in 25 different aircraft.
He has performed 10 spacewalks over his three flights in support of construction of the Japanese and U.S. elements of the International Space Station.
