Bio
A veteran of two Space Shuttle missions, Hurley most recently served as Commander of the first crewed flight of SpaceX's Dragon capsule and the first Commercial Crew human flight for NASA to the International Space Station.
Hurley piloted the Shuttle Atlantis on the program's last flight in July 2011. He is a Marine F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet pilot and holds the rank of Colonel in the Marines. His call-sign is "Chunky."
He is a recipient of numerous awards, including the NASA Superior Accomplishment Award in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Douglas Gerald Hurley is an American engineer and NASA astronaut. He piloted Space Shuttle mission STS-127, which launched July 15, 2009. He was assigned and flew as pilot for STS-135, the final flight of the Space Shuttle program, in July 2011. He was also the first Marine to fly the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet. His call sign is "Chunky" and was sometimes referred to by this name on the communication loops.
